During the initial visit, a thorough exploration of current concerns and presenting problems will be conducted, associated symptoms of other psychiatric disorders will be obtained, as well as a thorough medical history, family history, psychiatric history, education and psychosocial history, among other elements that would allow me to get a comprehensive assessment and understanding, to be able to formulate a treatment plan.

Initial Evaluations take a 1 hour appointment, followed by a second 45 minutes appointment.

Alternatively, some patients may be better served by a longer period of consultation before specific treatments are recommended.  If I determine that I am not the most effective provider for your specific needs, I will refer you to a more appropriate specialist.

Follow up visits will be conducted as 45 minute appointments, that will occur on a regular basis, the frequency of this visits depend on the individual case and needs.

Evaluation of medication response and side effects will be conducted during these visits.

Exploration of current concerns that may arise, and therapeutic interventions will also be implemented during follow up visits, as needed.

For therapy, sessions are also 45 minutes long. Different therapy modalities will be implemented depending on the individual needs, mostly psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, therapy sessions with parents of pediatric patients will also be conducted as indicated.
